Catalyst Project Update

15 April 2013 @ 7:30 am - 9:00 am BST

Breakfast briefing on the exciting Catalyst bid that is being led by the Open University and involves a range of business, academic and other partners, including Milton Keynes Council, EON, BT, Anglian Water, Western Power Distribution, Cranfield University, University of Bedfordshire and University Campus MK.
Catalyst is a £16 million project that aims to generate knowledge-based innovation by generating value from uses of open and linked data. The proposed approach can be summarised as:
“A developer environment and collaboration tools and APIs to allow 3rd party developers to develop and test new applications and services which make use of subsets of data stored in a new MK data hub, consistent with the access rights granted to such developers”.
As part of developing this bid we are keen to engage with SMEs and other potential collaborators to explain the scope of the project and provide an opportunity to help shape the final proposal.
